01 Music Publishing

You might be missing royalties you didn't know existed.

Every song you write earns twice, once as a recording, once as a composition. Distribution collects the first half. Vybe Studio Publishing goes after the second.

02 Earn More

Streaming royalties are
only half the story.

The money paid out by Spotify or Apple for a stream is the recording's share. The songwriting share sits with collection societies around the world, waiting to be claimed by whoever registered the song. Most independent artists never do.

Register unlimited music worldwide

We register your compositions with collection societies and digital services across the globe, so your songs are recognised wherever they're played. You stay the owner of your music, always.

Fair and direct payments

We take a commission only on the publishing royalties we actually collect for you, never on your distribution earnings, which stay 100% yours. Everything we recover lands in the same account as your streaming income.

New royalties & sync opportunities

You could be earning extra revenue whenever your music is performed live or broadcast in any kind of media, plus access to sync briefs for TV, film, ads and games.

03 How It Works

Four steps to the
other half of your income.

No paperwork marathon, no separate login. Publishing runs from the same dashboard you already release from.

Sign up & register your music

Add your works in the dashboard with the writers and their splits. We register them with global collection points to maximise what you can claim.

Claim your missing royalties

We chase down publishing royalties owed on songs you've already released, including income sitting unclaimed from past releases.

Pitch for TV, film & more

Browse live sync briefs in your dashboard and submit your tracks for placements in shows, films, ads and games.

You get paid

Collected royalties land in your Vybe Studio account alongside your streaming income, ready to withdraw, no second platform to chase.

Vybe Sync

Our sync team works to get artists featured in TV shows, movies, adverts, games and branded media. One placement can pay more than a year of streams, and it puts your song in front of an audience that has never searched for you.

Sync opportunities are included with the Label plan and run through the Sync Opportunities tab in your dashboard.

06 FAQs

Music publishing
questions, answered.

What is music publishing?
Music publishing is the management of your songwriting rights. It covers the composition of a song (the melody and the lyrics), and makes sure songwriters receive publishing royalties whenever their music is streamed, performed live, broadcast, reproduced or licensed for use in TV, film, games and adverts.
What are publishing royalties?
Publishing royalties are earned from the composition of a song rather than the sound recording. They include performance royalties, mechanical royalties and sync income, and they are completely separate from the master royalties you collect through music distribution.
What are the different types of publishing royalties?
Mechanical royalties are generated when your song is reproduced, streamed, downloaded or pressed to a physical copy. Performance royalties are generated when your song is performed or broadcast in public, live shows, radio, TV, and streaming services. Sync royalties are paid when your song is licensed to appear in media such as a film, series, advert or game.
How do I know if I'm missing publishing royalties?
If you've written original music but haven't registered your songs with a publishing administrator, there's a good chance you're missing out. Distribution alone only collects the recording side, the songwriting share stays with collection societies until someone claims it.
Do I still own my songs?
Yes. You keep the copyright in your compositions. We act as your publishing administrator (registering the works and collecting on your behalf), not as the owner of your music.
Which plan includes publishing collection?
Publishing royalty collection and sync opportunities are included with the Label plan. Distribution royalties stay 100% yours on every plan, including Single and Artist.
Can I register songs I released before joining?
Yes. Add your back catalogue as works in the dashboard and we'll register them too. Societies can pay out on income already collected for past usage, so older releases are often worth registering first.
How long does registration take?
Registration starts as soon as your work is submitted and verified. Collection societies then process claims on their own schedules, publishing income typically starts arriving a few months after registration, and continues for as long as the song is used.
